Sam you are right. This coin is extremely hard to find. I think I would find a 55 double die before finding a 69.

Probably so. Experts estimate that the number of known specimens of this 1969-S doubled die penny is only about 40 to 50 coins. At least its a real coin that may be out there still to find another so its certainly always worth looking if you have 1969-s cents, while it seems some of these super high value coins seem to only have had 1 or 2 found and therefore at times I joke because those might be much closer to a mythical find to find another... but we search anyway

Quote: So yeah you guys you're wrong it is a double die you just can't see We are wrong and can't see? If you are so confident that it is a DDO, then why do you ask us? It seems like you are convinced this is a DDO, no matter what we say. No amount of pictures is going to convince us otherwise.

if youre cherrypicking, trying to make some $$$ (yay!) the coins GOTTA be MS65+(there are exceptions) for it to sell big. Keep searching, keep looking, and keep in mind: Is this coin ugly or pretty good looking still? if its still good, then put it on ebay and see what happens!

The top portions of 'trust' looks like MD to me - they are reduced in size and step like, and the bottom part of 'TR' looks like circulation hits.

Still just Machine Doubling. your coin is worth about 2 1/2 cents melt value because it is 95% copper. Please accept the advice of this experienced community.

You took some really nice images of MD. For me, the best example of MD on your coin is the top of the "S" (TRUST). There is a line through the top of the "S" which is creating the doubling effect. Also notice that the top curve is only about half as thick as the lower curve where this line occurs. When people say that with Mechanical Doubling (MD) the devices are reduced, your images are a really nice example of that. The top of the "S" is reduced in thickness. Mechanical Doubling occurs to the coin, a doubled die occurs to the die and is transferred to the coin.

We're done here, he obviously thinks he's right and we're all wrong and he refuses to learn.
