Well...if we're thinking of starting level 3, and if we follow the same 'rules' as before, to be eligible for Level 3, you would have to be a winner of both Levels 1 & 2. b]supposing[/b] daviscfad did start Level 3, he/she wouldn't be winning anything, just giving something away, so I figure that he/she would still be eligible to enter a little way down the track. Level 2 was started by t360, but he/she has never actually won a round in it, but would still be eligible in my eyes. I hope GO reads & understands this, but maybe we should get his approval before we start another level because it's potentially giving him another ongoing contest to keep track of. Can't have our mods getting stressed out can we? We do need to keep level 2 moving along though, so by all means start level 2 round 24 after you receive your gift.

Can't have our mods getting stressed out can we? I hear all and see all As long as the contests are a continual process like they have been for over a year I think any additions would be great. I don't mind keeping up with the info. I should have done it a long time ago. As far as ideas....I think a level 3 would be confusing if the same types of rules apply. It would be nice to start a New type of Level 1 that involves the winner starting the next contest. What about these..... Quote: Pay it Forward Snowball
First person sends 1 coin Second person sends 2 coins I feel pity for the person that sends 50 coins but they got 49 Quote: 50 States
First winner has to live in Alabama Second live in Alaska Last winner is from Wyoming Quote: Darksiders Unite
Same type of PIF contest but only non-US members can participate Would be very fun to keep track of the mileage on this as well

Quote: Would be kinda nice to have a New type of ongoing contest with a different twist The part that would have been confusing to me was not 3 PIF's, but having someone who didn't participate in the first 2 participate in the 3rd. But after seeing the other thread talking about this, that wouldn't be a big deal...the starter doesn't get a prize anyway. Unless they come back around as a winner later (if qualified).

In response: "PiF Snowball" - it would not only be costly to send 50 coins but also.. the chances of 50 coins arriving safely overseas are much smaller than those of let's say 10 pieces. "50 states" + "Darksiders Unite" - would need to be held both, so that nobody is excluded. Of course, Daviscfad would be eligible for the contest he starts, but might not want to win round 2 or 3 since that would mean basically getting his coins (or at least some of them) back

"Pass Your Collection" - Just like PIF but instead of sending a coin, you send every coin you own.

"Send the bullion" - you receive and pass on an approximate amount of silver (in coins).

Quote: Of course, Daviscfad would be eligible for the contest he starts, but might not want to win round 2 or 3 since that would mean basically getting his coins (or at least some of them) back With the three current ongoing contests, it's only in Geocaching that this could possibly happen. With PIF, both levels 1 & 2, all coins sent to you are yours to keep, whether there's just 1 or 21. You then send whatever coins you wish to the next winner. If you choose to send on the coins you just received, well I guess you simply didn't really like/want/need them. Any winners in PIF Level 1 & 2 who have been passing on coins they received because they thought that was part of the 'rules' have obviously misunderstood how it is meant to work. I've got an idea for a contest very similar to Geocaching that does have a 'twist', but I'm not sure if others would go for it. I'll put a bit more thought into it before I decide to post it here. I'm not terribly innovative, so feel a little reluctant to propose something & have it under scrutiny.

When there is a sufficient number of ideas and no consent as to the preferred formula, we'd have to make a poll.

OK. As I said simialr to Geocaching, but maybe some small differences. We start with a set number of coins, this number NEVER changes. I'd say we would need at least 5 to 10 coins, maybe more. Each coin should be approximately the same curent worth, say $2 each. Depending on how many coins we decide to start with, we might have to ask for single coin contributions from a number of people to get it started. All the coins are sent to 1 person (Player 1) to get the contest under way. A list is kept of all the coins sent and the list is posted in the first post of Round 1 of the new contest by Player 1 who would be a volunteer and initially doesn't get to keep any coins, but can enter round 2 and subsequent rounds until they secure a win. We decide on how many entrants will be allowed per round, say just as an example we choose 10. This will give more people a chance to be the winner. Once we have 10 entrants, round 1 is closed, a winner, Player 2, is drawn from the 10 entrants by Player 1, the coins are posted off to Player 2, who can choose say 1 to 3 of the coins, but Player 2 must replace those coins with another 1 to 3 coins of equal current worth. Player 2 then re-does the list, posts it in a new thread so it's evident to all what coins have been removed & what the new coins on the list are. And it just keeps going on from there.... We would need to wait until a few rounds have finished before we decide on any limitations on previous winners becoming eligible to enter again. The 9 non winners from each round are eligible to keep entering following rounds until they become winners. If no one is very interested, the whole thing could fall flat on it's face. Please feel free to make any suggestions to alter or improve on this idea. A new contest title would be a good place to start. All are welcome!

My proposed details of the contest as mentioned above: a) the number of coins - 6, 8, or 10. b) the worth of each coin.. let's say $1.50+ no maximum value.. if someone wants to make a more generous gift, then he/she shouldn't be restrained by a maximum coin value. c) the number that can be taken - from one coin up to 50% of the lot. My observations: Knowing exactly what's in the package may deter participants (who see that the contents is **** or don't collect those particular coins). Maybe the list should not be posted, but a written log sent along with the coins. Maybe not for this particular reason, but also to achieve the "surprise factor" How would the drawing be done - it would be up to each participant, I guess. We'd have to rely on the honesty of the members, so we'd have to set up a X posts required to enter rule (75 or 100 maybe?). But still some may not want to send coins abroad - the costs are higher and the probability of the the package disappearing is higher as well - and on purpose pick someone from their country. How can that be prevented? The 9 losers would of course be eligible, that goes without saying.
