Hmmm, it does appear that the doubling observed on this coin is actual die doubling, interesting.

I'm thinking this is master die doubling after looking at other examples on coinfacts.

On the listings on the 1973-S on V.V, the spread is large: http://www.varietyvista.com/13%20Ei...201973-S.htmI didn't see any listings on Wexler's site. So it looks interesting, but not looking like a doubled die showing spread. Take a look at the examples on V.V shows. That might help you understand what I'm talking about.

Look at other coins on coinfacts. They have the same doubling. It was how they were minted that year.

I do see the doubling. Another option would be to send it to James Wiles if he is still attributing.

This coin clearly seems to be a DDO. The only thing to question here, is where to send it for proper attribution. Nice coin!!

I did reach out to john wexler. He was gracious enough to respond, even though he's retiring 2/1. Im not sure what to do next. He told me the following : "For coins that look like they have the potential to be significant errors I recommend that you contact Mike Diamond who writes the "Collectors Clearinghouse" column for Coin World." Should I try to reach out to this connect for this coin? Or was it meant for future reference since he's retiring?

Yes, you have to go bottom of the line. Also Wexler referrer you to him. Send him your reference from Wexler. Ps: the new pics for me show an DDR. Not yet convince for DDO but DDR seem to be. A combination? Will be nice to learn this and know they are.
