That's a stunner of an 1800 S-205. I was thinking choice VF35. Amazing color and surfaces.
Price in 2018 $550. Market was still down back then. Nowadays that coin probably gets $1500+ full retail.

Ok, I guess I still have to amend my previous 'tip' regarding the price I paid so as to make it fair for you all: I did not just get lucky with it, I mean, it was more like 'really' lucky...

@ paralyse - I dont think its a 205. I agree with the obverse but I think I see a little die crack between the bases of C and A in ameriCA on the reverse.

1800 is one of the hardest years for me to attribute. the differences on some of the dies are incredibly minor. if my attribution is wrong (which is certainly possible) and it is 205 my eac 25 grade would put it around cc 12 or so.

really nice example of a draped bust. nice color and planchet. this would command a premium in my eyes.

S205 is an R4

anything less than $1300 was good deal back then. I'm going with $1000
