thats sweet and an Awesome pickup definitely out of my wheelhouse for grading but looks like a little weakness in strike on the obv but the lettering is very sharp and especially of note are the buttons around the date. I'm with kbbpll at VF35

Nice and historical coin. The dream of many a Numismatist. Congratulations!
Grade: better than my F15, so I'll say VF25.

OK, drum roll... and, 20 it is. Nickelsearcher & Carr for the win! Mine I think has a weak strike on the tree but the wear everywhere else seems better than 20. Most here seem to agree, glad to see. Also I wanted decent centering where you could read all of MASATHVSETS, tough to find, wow these must be the worst centered coins ever. Thanks all!

Quote: wow these must be the worst centered coins ever. weren't these individually struck be hand? dont think there was much quality control then i overgarded it at VF35 based on the sharpness of the lettering and buttons. I'm wondering what NGC looks at on these. looks like there is more meat on the bones than a 20

Do you know what the reference to Dill on the holder refers to? I've previously tried to research that name and came up mostly empty (other than a collector out of Missouri).

Quote: Do you know what the reference to Dill on the holder refers to? No idea (it's Diii, three i's) , just spent 5 minutes searching and no closer to an answer. If an old silver pro could chime in...? Thank you again to everyone who replied, been fun reading the comments, I will post my personal "colonial type set" when I fill in the final 2 (easier) holes.

from this heritage auction: https://coins.ha.com/itm/colonials/.../1348-3318.sThe reverse is a further revision of a die that saw extensive use and is now in its fourth state following its use for Salmon 4-D (Noe-4), 4-Di (Noe-5), 5-Di (Noe-6), 6-Dii (Noe-7), 7a-Diii (Noe-9)
