A food scale won't work. A scale measuring two digits after the decimal point is necessary for accuracy. (for reference, 1 ounce is close to what a Morgan or Peace dollar would weigh.)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

and your scale needs to be able to measure in grams, not ounces.

When buying a scale for coins get one that goes down to 0.001 grams and can weigh up to 50 grams. They do not cost much. John1

Even if you have a scale like that, it won't be sufficent to weigh the plating.
Further, the weight (within the limits of accuracy) would be the same if it was never plated or stripped of plating with acid.

@imagecoins.... If you need a digital scale sooner, they sell them at any big-retailer, Whatever-Mart. I bought mine for around $20 & it weighs to the 0.00 grams for accuracy.

The weight is within tolerance for a zincoin. A cent without copper would be a dull grey, the colour of exposed zinc. It is possible that the copper has been stripped off after it left the mint.

Diagnostics of fake and genuine unplated cents: https://conecaonline.org/unplated-lincolns/Unplated cents generally weigh between 2.42 grams and 2.48 grams. The normal average is 2.50 grams. As with any denomination, cent weights will vary, with some falling above or below the mean. It's therefore possible to encounter a genuine unplated cent that matches or exceeds the weight of a normal cent. Cents that have been plated-over are usually slightly overweight. The fine streaks seen on unplated blanks and planchets are often not completely erased by the strike. This cent shows these streaks on both faces which leans toward a real unplated coin. Since their presence is variable, the absence of streaks cannot, by itself, be considered a disqualifying feature by the way https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...nghouse.html

If the color of the photos represent exact the color of the coin, gold kind of color, took me 25 min. to do. If it is more Silver color then will be 10 to 12 min.
