I had a guess, then I second guessed. Since I can read the certification number, I verified my guess(es). I should have stuck with my first guess.

just my opinion but I dont see this as a 64. TV's assessments are difficult to assess but it appears to have cabinet rub on the cheek, jaw and the high point above the eye on the forehead. there is a large deep gash on the neck and another one under the ear. multiple hits on the ear and another gash at the top of the neck. using TV photos I had it at MS63 and dropped it a grade for using a TV to MS62.

Maybe PCGS saw more luster than we do.

typically TV photo's show more luster than is there rather than less. would love to see in-hand photos to compare. smat45 can you do that? I want to see what PCGS is seeing on this one and whether it looks like a 64 or if again, someone missed the grade

So here are a couple of in hand pics...looks a bit ticky but has pretty good luster.
I agree with most all that commented about an extra point.
My orig post thought was 58-63
Well at least this one was better than I thought...out on 15 coins submitted 9 were what I thought, 3 a grade lower, this one a grade higher and 2 dinked for cleaning.
Thanks again for all that took time to look and comment!

I have to say that is a good looking Variety 2! Nicer than my MS-63.

comparing it to the TV photo there is quite a bit more marks across the profile and chatter on the left obv field than the TV. I had it at MS63 using the TV photos and MS62 as my grade. I think its MS63 using the in-hand photo. there are just too many marks on this coin to grade 64 imo

At least they are consistent. If PCGS called mine MS-63, then this one has to be MS-64.
