So you think that even with the obverse scratches that this would grade straight?

Thanks, lawest - very interesting. I looked it up and you appear to be correct. Thinking about buying this one, but those obverse scratches have me a bit hesitant. Don't know if it would grade straight.

I'm at XF40. tough call on the scratch. I think it would depend on who is grading it whether they would call it PMD.to me the coin should grade straight

It could be that the light is hitting the scratches just right. I bought a coin not long ago (1908-S IHC) that appeared to have some small reverse scratches, but when I got the coin they were so insignificant as to be barely there. The closer I look at a larger image, the more I wonder if these are even on the coin. There are other small scratches that are apparently on the mylar. Note the scratched area across "RTY" and in the right field of the obverse. I hit the dealer up and he's going to remove the coin and get me more info.

Turns out the scratches were on the mylar of the 2x2. I bought the coin - return privileges.

Nice coin. Even if the scratch was on the coin, I think it would grade straight. I'm at EF-45.

Final update - this coin arrived as well. No scratches. Dealer did me a good turn by responding quickly when I questioned him about his bad picture. Lawest - I think N-27 is correct.

Nice coin, I'm at XF-40 on it. I'm glad that those scratches were on the flip!

I'm thinking 45 (but might be wishful thinking).

in my mind its a tweener...between 40 and 45. I'm leaning more towards the 45 side on this one because of the overall look of the coin
