I have a 1953-S NGC MS64. This one is 63 at best.

How deep are those scratches on the word Dollar?

I'd guess MS-62. The obverse is a relatively clean but soft strike. The reverse has a lot of blotches and discoloration marks over a large area.

From the picture, it's hard to determine if the lack of detail on the hair is from the strike or from circulation wear. The coin almost looks mid-AU but just on the wispy hair.

MS64FBL or possibly 65. I've seen several with this type of reverse toning and the TPG's seem to like it or ignore it .

I'll also say ms64, cant get a good feeling if all the bell lines are there. If they are then ms64 FBL.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Looks MS64, FBL if the dark line across the top lines isn't a scratch

MS65FBL for me. Kind of a guess on FBL but it looks close.

I really think these pics are unsatisfactory for accurate grading estimates.

like I said, TPG's ignore that type on toning that we see on the reverse

the interesting thing here is that your original obv photo shows gold toning, the slab not so much.
