It looks like it will be the standard 3 million mintage, with 2 million of them being coloured. There is a coin exchange at the Ottawa and Winnipeg mints Tuesday through Friday this week. https://www.mint.ca/en/events/2023-...oin-exchange

Holy cow! The URL says "06-20", but the text (in English and French both) says "July". Which is it?

I'm going to be in Winnipeg, 20—23 July, for Pemmi-Con, the North American Science Fiction Convention. If it's then, I can participate, which is something (as a resident of Texas) that I'd never have a chance to do otherwise.

I'm guessing it's this week since National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21.

The first 2023 circulation coin issued.

Thanks for the information.

Strangely, this coin has not been mentioned on the canada gazette or the orders-in-council websites yet.

Today, the NIPD Toonie is published on the orders-in-council website.

Moreover, a second commemorative circulation Toonie (most likely coloured/non-coloured vesrions) is announced:
100th anniversary of the birth of JEAN PAUL RIOPELLE (artist)

Secondly, a commemorative circulation Loonie (again, most likel coloured/non-coloured version): honouring and celebrating the life and work of ELSIE MACGILL (first woman to earn a degree in aeronautical engineering)

I am very surprised to see how busy it was at RCM Winnipeg today. I noticed license plates from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Texas, Minnesota, and North Dakota.

So, this and the mentioned commemorative loony will be the only circulated coins in 2023? No 'basic' loonies or toonies?

...with the effigy of QEII -- except for the ones in the special set the RCM sold/sells.

At least, that's my understanding of it.
