One of my favorites was the Twilght Zone episode, "A Penny for Your Thoughts", S02E16. Although, despite the episode's title, the coin in question was a Quarter.  I'm not going through 19 previous pages to see if this has been previously posted. |

Here is what I wrote: This is from an original Twilight Zone episode, "A Penny for Your Thoughts." It's about a mild-mannered man named Hector Poole (Dick York) who pays for his morning paper by tossing a quarter into the vendor's change box--and it lands on edge! This rare event gives him the power to read people's minds, which ends up causing him nothing but trouble. This episode was first aired on February 3, 1961. Look at all that delicious silver! Yum! One thing I like about this photo is that it's a time capsule of sorts--it shows that in 1961, Walkers, SLQs and Buffalo nickels were still common in circulation.  Edited by jpsned

Although in my younger days, I never encountered a Walker in circulation, when I first became 'aware', Franklin Halfs were still common. Heck, 50¢ was a big chunk of change for me back then and I didn't handle many of them. And I never encountered an SLQ, either. This was a few years earlier and since Twilight Zone likely didn't go out of its way to highlight obscure coins, yeah. Edited by Vector Ze

A coin in the 1949 British comedy "Passport to Pimlico":  Passport to Pimlico coin Only the coin obverse appears and it matches the obverse of an Edward IV gold rose-noble or ryal. This coin is an imitation or prop coin. The real coins were minted from 1464 to 1470. The film is a comedy about the London district of Pimlico and the finding of an old document signed by King Edward IV (1461-1483) giving the area to the French Duchy of Burgundy. The Pimlico residents then believe that they do not have to obey British laws.  Edited by willieboyd2

The Six Million Dollar ManSeason 3, Episode 15—"Hocus-Pocus" Mark Wharton (Pernell Roberts) is fiddling with some dollar size coins. I am pretty sure they are Ikes.  I was watching it on my TV and I was not going to take a photo of the screen!  I will try to get a proper screen grab from my laptop.
