That's a good question. I would think that as long as they are in the tubes the plastic wrap wouldn't have any affect on them. You could always take a plain circulated quarter and wrap it up in the same plastic wrap and store it with the wrapped tubes and if it ever starts turning a funny color it would be an indicator to take the wrap off of the tubes. Just an idea, kind of like when miners took canary birds down with them into the mines and if the bird croaked it would be time to get the heck out of there.  |

I agree with okie-colin. You will be old and gray before they're worth much more than face because of the BILLIONS minted. Just to point out something. This week at my coin club, bank wrapped State Quarter rolls were going at FACE value. Let's see, 50 rolls at $10 = $500. Take the $500 and put it into a numismatically valuable coin and in 10 or 20 years you'll be glad. Just MHO. |

I think I saw in past topics that it is best to store quarters in the plastic tubes. I just wasn't sure if the plastic wrap would harm them.

ErrorCoins, I don't know about the Ga. quarters. There was such a crowd around the table I could't get near it.

I have seen people just run tape around the seam where the top connects to seal it.

Back in 1964 my Father in Law bought 25 rolls of uncirc JFKs and put them in tubes. He sealed the top on with tape. Now all these years later they look just as bright and shiny as the day they came from the mint.
FWIW he also had some that were wrapped in paper all these years - they look terrible. Just terrible. They're toned brown on the sides and ends.
I don't know that I'd do the plastic wrap as it might trap moisture in.

I gues I'll take the plastic wrap off and put tape around the seam with the cap, and the main tube. I was actually thinking that the plastic wrap would provent moisture from getting in. |
