Quote: "Rare NEW error" on an 18 year old coin... that is why it is 'rare' - took 18 years to get 'discovered, err created, umm made'......

You'll notice they carefully priced it at $2499 - ebay's stricter regulations regarding unslabbed coins trigger at $2500. Quote: Is it good old American Capitalism or should it be reported? It's good ol' fraud - because they claim it to be an error, when it isn't. You can't scrape a coin with a steel brush a few times, and claim it to be a valuable mint error when you know full well it isn't.

This coin keeps getting relisted. I saw it a few weeks ago, laughed and reported it to ebay.

It takes an act of God for ebay to remove these in my experience... if they only had someone who is "coin literate" on their staff, this stuff would go away... but they don't seem to care about this type of fraud.

Hey Coinhi - thanks for that picture on that mint scratched quarter and the error-ref link. It reminds me of my 2015 proof dime that had no reverse frosting or cameo, but did have scratches on it - a dime that was in a Mint proof case - has me wondering now if the scratches on my dime was inflicted in the mint and not outside it. here is my original post on my dime: http://goccf.com/t/405295
