I do admit it is difficult to tell, which is why I'm reaching out. Ty for your opinions. I lean towards small date, but it doesn't hit me 100%.

A second look at "Errers and Varietys" link and TippyCanoe's pics changes my mind... I think John1 may be correct, LD.

TippyCanoe's date appears to have the low 7, a thicker blunted 9, and a fairly well defined Liberty.

Maybe sharper images would help, but I'm now on the large date side.

With the posted images, I just can't decide

Ty Sam, you sound confident about that opinion. I haven't felt that with any other opinion.

Shape of the 9 is a dead giveaway. The loop of the 9 points towards the base of the 7 on the large date, while this points directly backwards.

I'm not an expert, but my vote is SD.

I use this link on coppercoins:

https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln...parison.html

The part I use is:

"The one tell tale sign between the two that NEVER fails is a crease that runs horizontally across the top of the diagonal of the 7 on ALL large date cents. That crease is completely absent on ALL small date cents (this works for proofs too). Take a look at the photos below and see for yourself...and enjoy collecting!"

I'll add my Two Cents to the SD camp.

The 9 and LIBERTY did it for me.
