I watched the live stream.
I was surprised the coin wasn't placed in a tray right out of the press. What if they dropped it. Is it not a piece of Canadian history?

Quote: It looks like all the KCIII items are on pre-order and won't be shipped for another 2-3 months. Yeah, the cards are in February, and the rolls are in mid-January. I have been trying all day to place an order and finally to my cart but it is not letting click on checkout - nothing happens.

The RCM website might be open again. I logged in at 4:00am today and was able to complete my KC order. Quote: ...the cards are in February, and the rolls are in mid-January. I will assume that both are dated 2023, and the 2024 coins will come out later next year.

I kept getting "too many redirect requests" and nothing would load. Tried again after two hours and was able to get my order in!

His pose seems awkward to me, like he's looking over his shoulder.

Interesting. I did not notice before, but it is quite obvious now you mention it.

Coronation was 6th May, 2023. It seems that RCM has some business strikes bearing a 2023 date are destined for circulation. It also seems that circulation coins bearing a 2023 date may be relatively scarce. To my eye, the RCM definitive obverse for Charles 111 for Canadian coins circulation is OK, and near enough to accurate. I was never keen on any of the obverse designs of QE11 1990-2023, British obverse designs better.

So golly gee, what is the RCM going to do with the five million dollars it gets NOW until they actually send us the coins we bought? Actually, I don't care, but the wait time between 'buy' and 'get' bugs me. I have no issues with the RCM with the majority of my purchases, but I'd rather just be told that an item will be released in the future, and that I could purchase it at that time, instead of the 'buy now - get two or three months from now' process. A lot of us coin collectors are of 'advanced' age, so I'm hoping that I'll still be around by the time the King Charles coins are delivered.

However my order of two "2022 Dated Last Strikes Uncirculated Set" were ordered ( RCM) on Nov. 15 and arrived at my door Nov. 17. Impressive to me. The Charles III sets will arrive, I think, sometime in February 2024. As one of the 'advanced' age group, I await their arrival with baited breath.

They gotta lock in your purchases. He's an old guy after all.
