Isn't it strange how they are just hung up there on hooks, like someone's homemade basement display. I hope that's not metal-on-metal?

I'm spoiled a bit by living only 20 miles north so I am able to 'pop in' and visit any of those sites any weekend day I wish to.

Thanks jbuck. I wonder if those hooks used to display the coins are damaging the coins.

Snapped this photo of a 1933, not the Smithsonian one, at the New York Historical society in November 2019. I believe it is the only one in private hands and was on loan to them at the time along with an inverted Jenny postage stamp.  |
