I have checked on the shoulder and I didn't see anything, I agree with 1910-s.

I'm leaning towards 1913-D myself.

Looks like a "D" mint mark and likely 1910.

Quote: Looks like a "D" mint mark and likely 1910. It does look like a "D" mint mark, but can't be 1910--no Denver pennies were minted that year.

I'm seeing a 10-S here. There's a couple of deep scratches that almost make it look like a 16-S, but note the complete circle at the top of last numeral. A Lincoln Cent six would have an incomplete loop there. The mint mark position is also typical for a 10-S; it would usually be further away from the date on a 16-S.

Can you use nic-a-date on pennies?

I still think 1913-D is in the running. If that's the left edge of a D, note the alignment and how it's rotated counterclockwise. It could be one of these. Doesn't really matter but it's fun.

MM does not line up for a D, it does for an S. THe entire Image needs to be rotated 15-20 degrees CCW to see the true horizontal profile
