Sorry for my ignorance, can you please explain what 'cob' means? I tried to look it up but the definition stated "crude hammered coins". Do you suspect this is a counterfeit?

Large cents are not my area, but I would think a variety collector might pay a premium.Let's wait for members in the know to chime in. John1

A part of the striking (hammer die) broke out and the void was filled with the metal as it struck the coin. It is a rim Cud.
