Okay, I decided to open a chat with ebay Help to understand why the coin was labelled as counterfeit/replica by ebay. It was very interesting to say the least. After being transferred a couple of times, I ended up chatting with someone who knew about grades, certification, etc, so that was good. Turns out ebay's system is AI powered and flagged my coin as counterfeit/replica because I wrote 'The coin is MS60 in my opinion'. That triggered ebay's AI as the coin is not graded (obviously). I asked Chat whether I could use a term like 'about Uncirculated' and that was fine with them, so I will revise the listing and repost. Maybe it was the combination of the photo, which kind of looks like a PCGS holder to an AI, but clearly is not, and the declaration that (in my opinion) it's MS60? It's frustrating to get an email saying 'Hey you're selling counterfeits!' when it's really all down to a word or two in the listing. ebay, fix this.

The flaw in ebay's system is when an item is removed for: raw coins with numeric grade stated or shown raw coins with value estimates using stock images not showing both sides of the coin raw coins with listing price over $2,500 They send out a message that the coin was removed for being counterfeit, rather than the more correct reason of "a violation of the collectible currency policy".

Indeed nss-52, if ebay sent a message saying 'Hey, don't specify a numeric grade' then all would be good. I would just amend the listing. But ebay chose to send a message accusing me of selling a forgery, which really riled me up. Anyway, lesson learned. Keep all descriptions to generic terms and describe the coin as best as possible without using any numbers anywhere.

AI is just getting started in its destruction of all we find sensible. Stay tuned.

Quote: pre-programmed decisions Not really! I've been writing 'pre-programmed decisions' for well over 30 years. Best analogy is that those represent a static realm operating within defined walls. Only humans can move the goalposts. AI is architected to be fluid. While it may start with a set of pre-programmed decisions, AI itself is supposed to learn from your interactions, or any other data, and modify (or expand on) the original instructions to make more 'educated' decisions without (or with little) human input. Quote: who can think of everything That is EXACTLY what the proponents of AI envision. In its infancy right now but IMHO a dangerous path forward as it grows up. WANT TO PLAY A GAME should be etched in everyone's mind. That wraps up my AI rant.

... Humans are imperfect, & as such, human produced "AI" is ultimately inferior. Faster?...maybe ... instinctively intuitive?... nope ... Ultimately, I don't want a basic ON/OFF program making my decisions ... I'd rather have someone driving that car, flying that plane, steering that boat, with as much interest at stake, as arriving safely, as I do ... "AI" survival "instinct" may not coincide with our own ... ...(yup, off topic again...sorry...)

Hi new here Yeah AI even making it hard to advertise coins on face book but there is always more than one way to skin a cat.
I'm also chasing wands for a sigma metal verifier ( origional) as mine did not come with them . Any one here have any faulty sigmas that they have not been returned to factory that have spare wands with it. As I'm chasing the small wand to test 1/10 and 1/20 coins I have been only doing this via the measure mode with success but would like a wand to make this process a little easier. Cheers Aussie bloke

Aussiebloke, you may be out of luck I'm afraid.
When I purchased my Sigma from the USA in early 2023 I was sent a faulty unit. The company sent me a new unit before asking for the old one to be returned, but they warned me not to mix the probes between the two units as each probe is calibrated to a particular unit.
Ask the Sigma company if they can help.
