Hello again all! I'm looking for some advice and figured this was a good place to find it. So I've decided to sell this coin and I'm trying to decide between Heritage and my ebay store. Normally I'd just go through my store but noticed that Heritage has sold three examples over the past year or so @ $4800 or above (including the 20% Buyer Fee). Seller Fees are about the same, and the only comp I found on ebay sold for $3800. Anyway, if anyone has had any experience with Heritage or otherwise has any advice, I would be very appreciative. Thanks as always!

I still think it's an AU-55.

I would sell it myself.

Any particular reason @NumismaticsFTW? Follow-up: Is it worth sending to CAC to potentially assuage the AU58 skeptics?

If this were my coin, I would try to sell it myself initially. If a sale turned out to be more effort than expected or I could not get close to retail myself, I would contact an auction house to sell with.

Thanks jacrispies, that's actually the current plan and likely what I'll do. If anyone has experience working with Heritage I'd be very appreciative of any info you can provide.

Auction prices realized for this variety are all over the place. (au58) CAC results: Sept 2024 2520 PCGS Dec 2023 4800 PCGS May 2023 2200 NGC Jan 2023 2800 PCGS Sept 2022 2040 NGC
PCGS Non CAC: Aug 2024 6,000 PCGS Aug 2023 5,040 PCGS
These auction results were pulled from the PCGS website.
How about consigning to Great Collections and setting an opening bid. No consignors fee on coins that sell for over $1,000. The max buyers fee is 12.5 %. Just a thought. Good luck.

Thank you very much Everest. I was aware of the sales from 2023 on, looks like it's jumped up a bit in the past few years. I'll look into Great Collections, I've seen them mentioned often but I am not familiar with them so I will have to do some research. Thanks again!

Thanks for the tip on Great Collections @Everest, seems like a pretty smart way to go for coins over $1000. Most of mine are below that, but I'll definitely keep them in mind for any higher end stuff.

You could also try
vamworld.com
go to - Discussion Forums
post your coin on - What's it Worth?
then post on - Buy, Sell, Trade
You have a target audience there... Just something to think about. Good luck! smat
