For $250, I hope it's a really big jar.

Unless there are 25,000 cents in that jar, I would have passed.

I ask again, how did you arrive at the $250 figure?

A box of 2,500 copper cents (face value of $25) would weigh about 17.1 pounds, so $250 of copper cents at face value would weigh a little over 171 pounds. Yeah, that would be a big jar. Anything under around 60 pounds and you're not even getting copper melt value (which you're not allowed to melt, anyway).
Then again, that 1909-S VDB might be lurking in there. Good luck!

GOOD LUCK! I've searched a lot of these jars and didn't find much. I suspect it will mostly be 1940's and 50's coins. It better be a huge jar! $250 is a hefty sum. I can get 5000 ct bags from my local shop for that.
