Nice find, Dearborn.
I have some early proof sets and mint sets that I will post if I find the time.

Thanks EV, G, and jbuck. I'm a bit stoked about it because of the mixed dates in it (both 1974 and 1975)

the 1976-S 3 coin silver proof set is the one you should get next - it is a set that you assemble yourself.. they go for about $30.00

A set you assemble yourself?

Missed that earlier.

Maybe he is indicating how they were shipped with the coins in their lenses, but not inserted into the holder?

I found one like this on ebay. It's $34.88 and the seller's last one.

Well it arrived!
1975-P Souvenir Set
Notice how this set has the 1974 Quarter and Half dollar mixed in it. This was only done in the P and D souvenir sets, not any of the normal uncirculated mint sets. This was done because no 1975 Halves or quarters were minted - in preparation for the 1976 Bicentennial sets.
This set is quite rare, from what I could find only about 2500 were made of this set (Philly) and the Denver set.

thanks G, EV, and Frog. I'm very pleased with them.

I'm thinking of trying to go back and get all the souvenir sets. they were produced at each mint from 1972 to 1998.

I already have 3 complete Souvenir sets from the P and D mints for the 1982 and 1983 years. (the missing years the mint got lazy and didn't produce any.)

Wondering if the mint got lazy in '82 and '83, or if emphasis/direction from new members of the Executive Branch redirected priorities--including funding levels.
