Whoa....DOCC.......... My planchet sure does look a whole lot like the NGC one. Thanks for the information. I've never submitted anything for TPG and I need to do some research on how it's done. I appreciate ALL the input.

The "blank" was in a zip lock baggie with four others that's been in my collection of cents for years. I don't remember when or where I got them , but three of them appear to be copper coated zinc due to the weight of 2.46, 2.35 and 2.48 grams. The fourth weights 3.028. None stick to magnet except the original posted one. Thanks again.

Send me an email JFeed, I can walk you thru it. The process might be a little overwhelming at first glance but it is actually straightforward and surely worthwhile for this piece.

Some of you have requested that I post a follow up after submitting this planchet to NGC. They determined that it was an "Ineligeble Submission" ..I am baffled because NGC has already certified four others in the recent past. I am convinced now more than ever that my planchet is another one of the experimental test blanks considered by the mint for use in the 1942/1943 steel change over. Thanks

DOCC.. Thanks for all your help and advice. Without you, I would still be trying to figure out the NGC submission form. I did not call them today due to doctor appointments which is an all day thing for me. Will try to call Monday.
