I tried to make it discreet. I don't *think* it even shows for US visitors/members, but it might.

I got it on my desktop the other day. At the bottom of the screen all the way across it in gray. It only showed up on CCF,and I checked about 15 sites. John1

I've been seeing it on various sites for at least 5 years. Google GDPR if you're curious. There's also a half dozen other countries with similar requirements.

My best short GDPR story was about a former employer who - when GDPR took effect - figured out that they did not have people's permission to email them about ANYTHING.
These were customers dating back 10, 20, 50 years... when the contact started using email their address was just added to the account (it was a kindler, gentler internet), and we had been emailing them order information, specials, etc.
The catch-22 was that they had never asked for permission so they couldn't use the email on file to ask for permission...
They had to put up a page and a banner asking for the necessary permissions.
To this day, some people still haven't given permission and wonder why they don't get order status emails. And I know they've been told, I used to sit next to the people who received those calls...
