Not that it matters, but I just counted again, and this time I got 128... and I counted three times before sending my answers! Was a fun and challenging contest!

Congratulations, Zurie! And thank you for this educational contest, nss-52 - I definitely expanded my knowledge of and appreciation for the medals of Mexico.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I hoped more people would give it a try. But it was fun for me to run this contest, and I am glad those that entered enjoyed it.

Congratulations and well done Zurie. This was a fun and informative contest to follow. Many facts in the posts and a lot of work on your part nss-52. Thank you.
I meant to follow-up with some online sleuthing and venture a guess but my attention span was challenged this past week.
One answer I found concerning the date of the mint while looking up a different question, I found on Numista. But it stated 1823. (I found this information after finding the 1535 date, so I was a little confused.) I would have used the 1823 date since that was the year of Mexico's independence from Spain.
Anyways, thanks again for a really interesting contest.

The question asks what Mexico considers the date to be, and they have consistently issued coins and medals using the 1535 date.

I just received the prize! Thanks for delaying the shipment until I got back. Looks beautiful--my very first Mexican medal! And thank you again for the contest--I learned quite a bit researching the answers.
