Good guesses! I'm hoping for VG-8/10, because of the complete rims, outline of wheat grains and a few lines, but it could go G-4/6.

I bet it goes VG10 easy. I think you've got a great shot at Fine.

Based on the pictures I would say G4 but with your added info I will say G6

I still have a hard time distinguishing between worn dies VS wear on the coin, especially without seeing the coin in hand.

Based on your input about the rims and the wheat detail, I am going with... VG-8. Good luck.

VG10 is my guess taking into account what the coin is.

I'll go VG-8 on this one. Was a weak strike year anyway and probably hard to find one with much detail. I am learning the Lincoln cents and am glad I finally started collecting them a couple years back.

DANG IT! Realized I could check the status online, I just checked their website....boy, did I have this coin wrong. I thought it was die pair 4, there's NO trace of a D at all. Oh well:

Weak D, Die Pair 1 VG-8

Well, did I ever screw up! I should have sent this coin to NGC or PCGS! I found this on LCR:

Quote:
ANACS does things a little bit differently. Only Die Pair #2 is given a "No D" classification. Die Pairs #1, #3 and
#4 are all classified as "Weak D's" regardless of the strength of the mintmark.

Even if this coin is not one of "the" 1922-D Plain cents, I still think that it is a winner. I would have no problem putting this one in a Dansco's "1922-D Plain" hole.

Oh, it's definately a plain, no trace of a D under any mag or any angle....I'm going to resubmit to NGC so I get the "right" holder.

I think NGC will help you place it in the "correct" holder.

this one was hard, with your added descriptions I moved from a g to a vg. I do like your lincoln collection as seen thus far.
