Looks like it is even missing the PCGS embossed on the plastic slab itself, should be on the lower right obverse of the slab. John1

The coin is absolutely fake as is the holder ! Has the typical poorly reproduced holder and the "Coin" has the Chinese counterfeit , washed out look. Sure hope you are not out 20 K or so . You have been scammed ! Suggest everyone watch the video referred to above . Most excellent and enlightening.

Love the video above my friend Russ did on these; I call them the "Morgan" Morgans when I see them. Here is another in my collection to compare: All I have seen also have the label added to the outside of the slab, and the barcode will not read (this one didn't read with my scanner either). And they used a PCGS cert with no image so no comparison image. Although the reverse uses the common bad "CC" reverse with the partial "O" (these are casts) the obverse appears more realistic to the eye; we had commented they can't fake genuine "bag marks" but it looks from the OP's posted image they are trying... As noted above by @thq for future reference the only date that PCGS puts the word Morgan on the label is the 1921 Morgan to differentiate it from the Peace dollar. There are a number of these fake PCGS slabs with different dates with the word Morgan on the label.

Thank you all for your replies and input. I knew to look out for the Chinese fakes when buying raw. I had no idea they were now faking holders too. Will chalk this up as a learning experience as I will be able to get my money back through ebay buy protection. I have reported the sale to PCGS as well. I do not think the seller knew it was counterfeit as he paid over $100 to send it to me registered mail fully insured. Again, appreciate the wealth of knowledge. I am learning more as continue to collect. You all are the best, even when the bearers of bad news

Quote: I do not think the seller knew it was counterfeit... Found the listing on ebay. This seller has minimal feedback and only one for a sold item (possibly this one). It's risky to purchase from a seller with this level of (in)experience, especially for such a high-value item. Better to stick with established, more trustworthy dealers.
