Could be rim damage, but perhaps instead the earliest start of a rim Cud? I'm not sure. A really good close-up image might help.

Thank you Coinfrog! Errers it weights 11.36 g I have seen a lot of coin with that on the rim so I assume that thats no an error because its pretty common I guess. But the weakness in that part is my question. I found fews 1971 and 1972 with the dame weakness in the same area.

For take pictures of the entire coin I use this old camera:

Looks like it might be a case of pre-strike planchet damage.

Good job spotting that weakness and realizing it might be something interesting worth looking into.

These other coins might be similar or in a similar location, but because of the "randomness" of the placement of the planchet into the striking chamber, they shouldn't be in the exact same location.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Thank you Petespockets55! Here are few images from the 1972, you right it has the weakness but not as this 1971. This 1971 is a little more damage.
