All in favor of more dollar coins, but please not the insipid Ike design.

I think that you just have to check them when you get them. I do find that astonishing though, considering that it is to your advantage!

Oriole: The tellers many not be experienced enough to recognize the difference between dollar rolls and half dollars rolls -- but in all cases they expected me to pay the price shown on the incorrect rolls: i.e., $25 per roll, not $10 per roll.

Both rolls are probably seldom seen, I wouldn't fret too much about an error made by someone trying to help you. You're lucky they answered your call and answered your question. My bank doesn't take rolled coins without running them through a coin counter, so no customer wrapped coins at all.

Easy one. I just carry an example coin or roll to show them. Reminds me of the time I visited a small town bank asking for a box of dime rolls. The young teller disappeared for several minutes and returned with a box. "That will be five dollars please." The box was full of empty dime rolls.

I was dumping 14 rolls of halves at a bank. The teller gives me back $350 she thinks thet are $25 rolls of dollars. After counting I tell her she made a mistake and gave her back $210. She was so appreciative.I don't think these folks make a lot of money and if they are short it probably comes pout of their salary. This has happened on more than one occasion with me. What I find is many tellers are not familiar with half dollars and sometimes look very confused.I don't need the money that badly. actually I was going through Drive Thru.
