03, but I do not like the way the light hides her eye. This always makes me very suspicious on ebay coins.

I also like 03 better. Notice behind Liberty's hair: there is something there on 05 but not in 03.

I like them both.. you get different details with each. Was just the lighting angle different?

It looks like 03 was lit from about 11:00, and 05 from about 1:00. Either the light itself, or the white balance adjustment on the camera, changed as well, as the color of the coin differs. 03 is a little "yellower" than the coin probably is in reality, but after years of looking at ebay photographs I make those corrections subconsciously.

Actually I use two desk lamps on either side with two candelabra bulbs in each lamp.

If you play a bit with the proper white balance setting ( not on Auto!!) and maybe the Lens opening, and a little bit less, or more diffused light, you will have it eventually perfect. I have been playing with this for a while now.. ans till do not come close to yours.
what camera are you using and what is your setup?

I'm using a Kodak EasyShare Z710. Like I said, I use two desk lamps on either side and each lamp has two candelabra bulbs.

How does the reverse look?

I really, really like it from an aesthetic standpoint. Yeah, maybe the letter details could have a little higher contrast, but there are no hot spots and the black/white contrast between fields and devices is just about perfect. I've always found Morgan reverses to be easier than obverses, and this coin is a good example. The broad, flat area of the cheek on the obverse throws things off, I think - getting that right makes the rest more difficult.

The reverses always seem to be more frosted. Of course, on a nice white coin with little contrast, it's much easier.
