Not bad pics and very interesting looking but not sure this is a lam. If you could get closer, clear pics, that would be great. If possible, clear close strait shot and possibly some angled shots.

Sure. Happy to try!
I have an iPhone and was using the magnifier feature, I'll try w/different lighting.
I do have a couple different jeweler's loupes I could try to get a photo through. Anyone attempted that?
Any other "how to pic" suggestions from the community?

Poor Abe! Kind of eerie that the damage goes clear through the back of his head.
I didn't notice that until looking through the loupe.

Kooin, thank you for the extra pics! I would have to agree with the rest about it being a lam, it just looked like damage to the coin in the earlier pics. Very unusual for a coin this late of date but not unheard of. Thanks again and nice job on the pics!

This is the reverse of the same coin. It appears that the E. (In E pluribus unum) and STA in state are flat. The E especially. Assuming this is from the issue w/the metal that made the lamination prob on the obverse?

No, I think that's circulation flattening.

Weakness in the area of STATES and E PLURIBUS UNUM is very common in Memorial cents. It takes so much metal to fill the bust of Lincoln on the die that the corresponding area on the reverse is often weak, so is unrelated to the lamination on the obverse.
