Bobby- can we change 'frogs handle to "SabreToothCoinFrog"?
Of course that will probably lead to mine being changed to "MrSarcasm"

I've been a moderator on 2 different forums and it's not a fun job! You have 98-99% of the posters being great and following the rules and generally the 1% gets banned pretty quickly for various infractions. But you have that other 1% who for the majority of their time are perfect and then go off the deep end for usually some really insignificant item and these are the hardest. You try to cut them some slack (that you generally wouldn't cut with the others) and they go nuts and then it's a massive clean up and nasty emails. I for one appreciate the work moderators do. Personally, I think the mods do an outstanding job of keeping the tone civil. They and @bobby set the bar for CCF being a welcoming community. Kudos to them.

Sorry bobby, what does I am "the most heavily moderated member on this forum by FAR" mean? Honest question. What does "moderated" mean in your statement? Most criticized? Most unliked by the mods? Most likely to call a spade a spade? This is a sincere question.

You have the most condescending or sometimes even downright nasty posts removed. Just last week you told a new member his thread was the dumbest you've ever seen on the forum. That's not calling a spade a spade, that's just being nasty. See below, nothing is ever permanently deleted, just removed from public view. We get reports/emails about you 3-4 times a week and we have an 8-page ongoing topic in our staff talk forum dedicated to your shenanigans. That's what it means..

On this forum, the mods have a fairly active role — must be available, affable, flexible, welcoming, keep topics active when needed, provide advice, and stay open-minded to different collecting styles. Those set in their ways need not apply.

Thanks for the reply, bobby.
I think every forum needs a watchful critic, which I've tried to be.
But I most dislike the road this forum has taken in recent years, with several moderators and members quickly replying "up" to each new post, day after day, running up their "like" totals.
I call them the "back-slappers".
Appreciate your thoughts.

Quote: Of course you [Coinfrog] would say that since for the last 3-4 years (being conservative), YOU are the most heavily moderated member on this forum by FAR. Everybody knows it too, not just the Staff. And I thought that ''honour'' had been given to Princetane.

Quote: The number one criteria is demeanor and attitude, not seniority I believe this is at least part of the reason (if I was ever even considered) that I haven't been approached for Mod duties. I would have quickly accepted the responsibility, but I had an extended rough patch highlighted by clashes with the higher-ups.

Quote: And I thought that ''honour'' had been given to Princetane. Princetane has been gone for years. Before that, it was the recently deceased trouble twins, before that it was Stevex6, before that it was FadeToBlack..... I could go on, there's always at least one.

No one is running up anything, they are bumping topics that need attention. Sometimes with a welcome, a thumbs up, or even just "Nice!" It's encouraged and won't be going away. We even welcome members in locked topics with no pics to make sure they see what they need to do. Apparently, you have a bug up your butt about that too. Here's the deal, this topic is now locked. When you start your own forum, you can run it as you see fit. Stop trying to run mine.
