Quote: Although the tarrifs are paused for 30 days, the buyer will pay the 25% in higher pass through pricing or in the case of coins if bought at major auction houses since most only ship by UPS or Fedex you will have a CBSA form for the products code and it's tarrif if any but if there is a blanket 25% you will be charged another 25%, with auction fees, exchange and if the tarrif comes in, that is 100% of winning bid! You sure you know what you're talking about? Cause I sure don't. A CBSA declaration is a form or process that allows travelers to declare their goods and immigration information to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Who needs the Canada Border Services Agency Declaration Card Instructions? International travelers entering Canada need to declare their goods. Canadian residents returning from abroad require this form for customs. Visitors bringing presents or gifts into Canada must fill this form out.

I can assure you if you get any package from UPS or Fedex and it from a US seller, when the package enters Canada you will be contacted by the courier if you want them to clear customs or use your own broker, that is where the tarrific codes comes into effect along with GST or HST owed.

That's the way it has been - has nothing to do with newly added tarriffs when and IF they will ever be applied. So stop trying to get everybody riled up over nothing. Fed Ex: "All shipments that are imported into Canada are subject to duties and taxes assessment by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The duty rate varies depending on the type of product and the country where it was manufactured. The amount of duties and taxes for an item primarily depends on the item's value in Canadian dollars and the purpose for the shipment such as a gift. In addition to the duty, tax may also apply (e.g., GST, PST, QST, and HST)."

Only reason this topic is created is on Saturday a blanket tarrific of 25% was applied to all Canadian imports and immediately Canada and Mexico did the same, that is the situation untill things got paused. For any Canadians buying coins or currency under Saturdays rule would have incurred an extra 25% if from US sellers

Thought all would like to know . This morning we received an email Important communication from our 3rd party freight forwarding service. It is regarding shipments into the USA under CBP section 321 shipments . This is basically small pkg under 800 USD in total value including shipping. As of today they are spot checking (opening) Packages coming from Canada to USA. Your entire shipment will be disallowed if It does not meet the following. Your item count does not meet the pre sent Electronic manifest . The item in the package and the invoice do not clearly state or show the country of Origin . You violate any Copyright regulations. So , for right now coins and numismatic items are in the clear . We are being pro active and have completely suspended shipping anything made in China due to the current political climate involving China / USA.
US customs also said that there are sure to be Further changes and modifications.

I saw "Inside Edition" Tuesday, and laughed about the run on eggs in the US. Some areas were paying $18/19 (US) a dozen. Maybe the "states" should ask to become provinces of Canada ?!! Free healthcare, actual education, lower crime and less gun violence, and the $4.09 (Cdn.) a dozen eggs were on sale this week for $3.77. What a country !

At the RCNA in Calgary a few years ago, some of my American friends said Canadians have free health care, it's not free we just have a different way of paying for it through HST,gas tax, higher booze tax and generally tax on everything, nothing is free

We pay between $3.75 and $4.25/Dozen in Ohio. My insurance is free also and I don't have to wait 7 months to see a doctor - maybe ya'll should move to Ohio Just stay away from Toledo, Cleveland, and Columbus if you don't want to get shot - LOL!!!!!!!

After this weeks fiasco the entire relationship with the USA has been changed forever . Took basically 14 days to destroy a friendship of nearly 200 years . That said eggs here in BC $4.00 CAD a dozen . Free healthcare, not a thing we pay heavy taxes plus $98 CAD a month for extended health . Doctor wait time in my community 1 to 3 days Specialist usually under a month or so sometimes much faster Quality of life , priceless ! As to a 51st State scenario , sorry never happening . Canada is such a diverse country would have to be 11 to 13 new States .still ain't gonna happen . The new nightmare for the US is going to be an election in Canada by October . The result will be a 180 turn in direction . Now back to coins..Lol

Hey there. I'm going to hit the pause button on this thread while the mods sort out if it can be cleansed of the political elements leaving behind a purely numismatic discussion. Thx for your patience.
