Crazy find - never saw die polishing that extreme before on a quarter.

Second, I don't think it is a die crack rather a scratch ,I highlighted the
the points of contacts as the object travelled over the devices .

Courtesy of MadDieClashes.com.

That hump in the wing is Washington's bun, the result of a massive die clash. The line above it is also from the clash. Obviously the Mint tried to polish out the die clash, but you can still see remnants everywhere. That line on the left wing towards the arrows is part of Washington's face. The big die crack is probably from the dies striking hard enough to damage the reverse die.

Can we see the obverse as well? It will either have clash marks, or possibly have been damaged badly enough to get swapped out. The Mint made a ton of clad coins in 1965 to retire silver quarters, so they might have let quality slip a little to keep striking nonstop.

Always nice to have an overlay when looking at potential die clashes. Thx for posting that @brand.

Also, welcome to CCF @josh!

That's a cool find, particularly on a vintage quarter. That die over-polishing on the wing has a really distinctive look.

Very extreme indeed. Would also like to see a photo of the Obverse on this one, just to see what's going on there.

Here are a few of the obverse....hopefully they help. The only thing I see on the front after looking closer is a die crack that starts near the 1 and goes across the bottom of the neck line.

Excellent photos. I don't see anything that screams die clash on the obverse. Lots of die scratches, though.

very nice die cracks and lots of die polishing noted as well - love the disconnected wing!

The die polishing most likely happened before the die started cracking up.

Thanks for the additional photos. No Die clash evidence on Obverse, but seeing a collar clash at 10 & 11.
Great reverse on this one!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the very nice clash.

I'm glad Brandmeister pointed that out. I agree the mint swapped out the obverse die that had been clashed with this reverse. I find it interesting they swapped it out with an older die with issues of its own.

Correction: I do see clash remnants on the obverse.
-The corner of the bun and ponytail.
-The small raised section between the base of the Y (LIBERTY) and the bun.
-An area in front of the nose.
-Lots of polishing lines around the bust where other reverse design elements were removed.
