I agree with circulation damage from a hit. Whatever the cause, it is not an error.

 To CCF, Coin-toss! With a second example being found, I agree that it's a Die Chip.

Thanks for sharing the second example Cointoss.
It's definitely an "issue" with the die, whether a die dent, die chip, or die gouge.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

 Coin-toss! That is a pretty cool find. Sometimes that is all it takes to disprove first thoughts of things, time. This is one I will try to look out for now. If I had ran across this in the past, probably thought that it was a damaged coin too and tossed it....
