Thank, you EV  I've given up trying to kind of keep them uniform in tone/color. I'm not gonna search all over for a specific one and I'll jump on one if it's a good deal. I'm pretty sure they also had more proofs, these are just the ones I came out with.  |

Thank you, CoinForMe jbuck, so when you have empty ports in your album, do you generally fill them with anything? Now, it's odd, Whitman's album has a port for the 81-type 2 proof, unlike Dansco. However, they also have ports for the 1955 double die and the 1972 double die. I didn't even know this was a thing honestly. I knew about the 55, but not the 1972. Their album also goes from 1909-1995. Then starts with a secondary album that has dated ports from 1996-2025 with a few slots leftover at the end. Interesting. |

I get it. So far, I don't really plan to "fill out" the majority of the empty spots in the back of the album.
I'm kind of over that. I don't need to have it filled out completely.
My Jefferson album basically only has the empty slots filled out due to having so many proofs that there are no ports for, since they didn't have any spots for them until 1971.
Have from 56-70 in proofs, so naturally, the empty spots at the end were good for that. But not going this kind of route with the Lincolns, at least not at the time being.

Hi all! I haven't posted in here in awhile! I haven't really been too active in my Lincoln cents lately, as I've been having more fun honestly collecting Roosevelt dimes. That said, I don't have too many proofs left to fill the album. I recently ordered all of them. I'm excited to finish out the collection. I recently put in an order on ebay for: the 78, 79 type l and ll, 81, 82, 83, 1999, 2000, 2007, 2008 and all four of the 2009 proofs. That will finish out the album/collection. I considered ordering the 1981 type ll proof, but there isn't an actual technical spot for it in the album, and not a fan of the higher cost for it. So, nah. The only coins I will be missing in this series after this are the 1909-S VDB, 1914-D, and 1970-S small date. The S VDB is out of my price range, and the other two are up in the air whether I want to go the route of purchasing them at some point. Until then, I feel pretty accomplished! I'll post some more updates when I get everything!! Edited by Humanist1287

I noticed the 22 Plain is still absent from your list. It is still on mine. I wish I settled for your solution a long time ago. It'll stay this way for the time being. That is, unless I feel like finding a 22-D "weak D" variety. It's not a coin I consider part of the series personally. A lot of people feel this way evidently. It's not a coin that I'll be partaking in personally. My thoughts are, if I'm gonna be spending that much on a singular coin now, I'd rather allocate it towards something or something's that I really want coin-wise. I'd love to own some really nice, semi key date-ish graded Liberty nickels. That would be so cool. For 200-300 dollars, I could probably get at least 3-4 really nice ones! Or, I could do a re-purchase of the 1885 Liberty nickel, which is missing from my collection. I always get money around the holidays/birthday, so I figured I'll re-look then, since I usually get 200-300 dollars. I could get a lot of really nice Shield nickels as well for that! After completing my Liberty nickel collection, I had kind of got burned out on regularly spending so much on coins! That's one of the reasons I'm enjoying the Rosie dimes so much. They are a nice collection, with tons of coins, for VERY affordable prices! Edited by Humanist1287

Hi, Seamonkey! Yes, I did get the majority of them from Profile coins on ebay. I get the rest that they didn't have from another seller. Kind of drives me bonkers honestly when sellers don't have all the coins you need, and you have to place an order from like, 3 or 4 different sellers and get your coins all at different various times because of it. Profile coins had the 78-S, 79-S type l, 2007-S, 2008-S and the four different commemorative 2009 proofs. I got the 81-S, 82-S, 83-S, 1999-S, and the 2000-S from another seller named Pennylanecoins. The type ll 79-S, of course, was from another seller. Lol. |
