Welcome to CCF!
I use my laptop, made a document called "labels." I type the info I want, print the page, cut it and clear tape it on coin boxes, coin tubes etc.
I do the same when labeling other things like our clothes storage totes, holiday decoration storage totes, food storage, etc.
I make the font size small or larger depending what I am labeling.
I have a few of those red boxes. I haven't noticed the tape/labels coming off but they are at the bank box and don't get moved around much.
I little dab of hot glue/gun would hold a label. I use a hot glue gun to label my petrified wood pieces and fossils. With heat it comes back off.

Yeah, hot glue maybe not a good idea for carboard boxes, though I've never tried it. Pealing off clear tape that's been there for a while can damage a box. When changing labels I've put the new label over the top of the damaged area LOL.

Can I suggest having a scrounge around second hand shops and the like for old slide storage boxes? Picture slides were exactly the same size as coin holders. They work beautifully and are much more solid. If you can find a bunch of the same sort you'll have uniformity in appearance as well. They also hold the coins just a wee bit apart from each other inside the box.

You might be able to glue one some sort of plastic holder to hold an information card.

I like that idea. Glue clear coin flips to the boxes so you can change out the labels. Or maybe cut down currency sleeve, glue one to box lid.

A black permanent marker works.
I prefer silver on black boxes, though :)

I cheat. I print plain old paper labels and attach them with clear packing tape wrapped horizontally around the entire box cover. Some of my labels are old enough to vote. The packing tape also keeps the corners of the boxes from splitting over the years.

Quote: clear packing tape wrapped horizontally around the entire box cover Haha, that would work! The problem is most adhesives don't stick well to that glossy, textured surface. You might try a piece of double-sided mounting tape, which works on textured walls. Then you could just attach labels of your choosing to the tape on the front of the box.
