@docc, really nice work digging up these. With regard to the button, I am far from an expert, but the linked thread below from the metal detecting forum might point you in some good directions. Any chance there is lettering on the back side? https://metaldetectingforum.com/ind...on-id.84024/

Looks like a lovely area to be hiking & searching in. Quote: nickelsearcher - center mass is a button. Does it look Irish to you? It does at first glance. The harp or lyre resembles Irish coinage to my eye. Hopefully you can learn more about it. Congratulations again on your gold find.
