A grader should be consistently accurate, not a systematic undergrader. Although this benefits buyers, a seller would be livid if a superb gem was holdered in an entry level gem slab.  Seems like CAC would rather under-grade and have coins be considered choice for the grade than risk over grading. |

CACG slabs are relatively new, while CAC stickers have been around for what, 15+ years? I presume the CAC slabs are still finding their acceptance level in the market. Question: for a common-date gem Morgan dollar, which is likely to sell for more, a PCGS MS-65 CAC, or a CACG MS-65? |

At least according to Greysheet, they price them identically. The OP's coins look very nice in the images. The '82-S shows some obverse strike weakness and we need to remember surface preservation is only half the grade. Strike, luster and eye appeal are the remainder. I do feel CACG has intentionally undergraded coins to establish/maintain a reputation in the marketplace. |

Collectors continue to pound into our heads that CAC is the way to go; now, everyone seems to believe it. They are basically the same; an old guy sitting there giving his opinion on the nature of a coin's condition. |
