While I'm interested in what others may have to say, I'm thinking MD on this one. No notching on IGWT and little to no doubling of any sort on the date.

I'm thinking Machine Doubling as well. I hope I'm wrong. Not seeing any separation or doubling on the date. http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...5PDDO001.htm

Doubling on the date of FS-101 looks like Mechanical Doubling. Please see copy of photo from Wexler.

The doubling on the upper part of S doesn't look like MD.

"Doubling on the date of FS-101" ... meant to say "Doubling on the motto of FS-101"

I do not think it is a match. The doubling looks different.

Also, the classic "die crack on top of VDB" is present.

Although there are similarieties with the doubling on the FS-101 and yours but as mentioned above yours is a MD note the reduced size of the devices on yours compared to the actual DDO.

I agree that the date looks nothing like FS-101. At the same time, doubling on the motto looks very similar and the "crack over VDB" die marker is present.

Some other variety?

I'm not seeing much difference in size of the devices. Am I missing something.

This can be hard to see at first but notice how the Wexler example shows split serifs on TRUST while yours does not? Your coin is showing MD which can be described as "flat and shelf-like" doubling.

Coins can have both shelf doubling and die doubling. I'm pausing on this one because the date does look like doubling. I agree that the motto looks like shelf doubling.

Would it be possible to see whole-coin obverse and reverse photos? In particular, I see some things such as the pattern of die polishing that make me think that this could possibly be Copper Coins 1-DO-003. That one has the doubled 9 and also a lightly doubled eyelid and slightly doubled L in LIBERTY.

Thanks!

with the 'reduced devices', they mean that they are skinnier, some of the original design has been stepped down. if this was a DD the main letters would be the proper width.
