1999 LMC - What's Up With Lincoln's Nose?

Are you sure that '99 Obverse and the two close up's of the nose are the same coin? Cause when I look at the third picture, first closeup, I mean talk about the definition of ball-chinny-in and I do not see that on the '99 Obverse. Also can you post a closeup of the date? I am not disagreeing with any of the CCFs opinions at all but in the first picture, as low quality as it is cause 300kb MAX, all I see is a really good doubling of all the date devices. I just am working on my own diagnostics and can only look at so many of the head honchos old Topics and pictures for so long before I start needing input and discussion. I apologize to anyone if I'm a bit you know

Well, I can take a hint jbuck, lol. I'm sorry for complaining about the 300kb max upload for photos guys but maybe that is because I don't understand WHY that exists. I imagine it's due to a number of things like what the forum can handle and also back in the day when we all didn't have lightning fast internet, I really don't know. What I do know is how big of a pain it is for me to add pictures to my Topics. First, I use my phone and yes I have read the tutorials but they all are . a lot . I mean it would be really nice if I could snap a picture and upload but that's not the case. I have to take a picture and hope it's good enough to show what I want everyone here to judge. Then I have to crop. Then save image to my phones files so I can convert to jpeg while making sure I don't choose to large a setting and go over 300kb. Hey I'm ok doing this because I am making an attempt to become a part of this community as this whole penny collecting thing I'm doing is important to me but maybe I should rethink myself being part of this community if I'm going to be threatened to be banned over not understanding something and complaining about an upload rule, would have been just as easy to tell me WHY. That said it's still not the easiest thing nor most time saving thing in the world and honestly I imagine there are probably a lot of potential members and new collectors who are turned off to being a part of the CCF due to this, I mean most cell phones take such high quality photos now and also I have the slowest internet speed of everyone I know cause I live in the sticks but my internet and even phone service has no problem browsing the high quality across the web. Maybe adding a reason to all the instructions why the 300kb upload rule is in place would kill anyone feeling like I do? So that's why I complained about the upload size. I apologize for hijacking the thread so feel free to delete this if you need to MODS. Also I would still like to see the date close up if OP does get around to reading this, just to see what it looks like close up even though it sure does look like MD.

-makecents- thanks for the advice but I have to admit "easing in" has never been my strong suit, It's all or nothing. I'm not gloating either it's a gift and a curse.

@kbdesantis44, they're all from the same coin. My cheap microscope can't take a full shot of the coin (too close) so I have to use my old phone, zoom then crop and it loses quality. Anyway, attached is a pic of the date.

Glim, thanks for that extra pic, although I feel like I'm playing Minecraft when I zoom in, SMH. But before I jump on that road and reply to everyone, and I promise it will be the last time I say anything about the upload resolution, now I have another question about this coin! Am I the only one who sees the straight edge line that looks like it starts squiggling right as it contacts Lincoln's chin? I really do have more questions on that date as well, I see a lot of details that are pretty dang hard for me to see but maybe the big dogs in the forum can tell us what they see. All my Newbie eyes see are pixels

Ok ok, like I said this will be the last time I criticize the resolution issue as it is obviously a sore subject. This last picture glim posted is the perfect example, he did the best he could to meet the forums requirements and no hate towards you glim but let's be honest that photo is subpar.
Let's just say, for example, it was a DD of some type or the detail that's a DD on the reverse of a 1997ish LMC, on the pillar next to the statue, there would literally be no way anyone could properly identify it. No one could because it is not physically possible if these are the type of photos we are getting, whether it be due any number of reasons such as inexperience, equipment or just can't figure out how to do it because it takes some decent effort.
I'm gonna do my best to respond as efficiently through this rant as possible but I do believe this matters and I think most of you will agree by the time your done reading my arguments(for lack of a better word, my vocabulary is garbage).


Brandmeister, This is how I sees this, This is a COIN community the photos are the most important part aside from the knowledge everyone shares. Seeing tiny markers and details are what this community does, I mean it's a requirement, is it not? (Rhetorical/Facetious again my vocab) BTW Hi! I'm Kyle nice to meet you.


jbuck, the answer is a huge YES, especially for this type of community where the devil really is in the details and those are extremely small details that require a fine resolution to be able to produce meaningful answers, as I described in my example at the beginning of this post. I get it, this is a community and has financial requirements like a business after all. We can talk more about this in detail if you would like but really quick, I would imagine that if it was easier to post photos straight from one's equipment that we would add a healthy amount of members and we all know what that means, more members = more revenue. I am brand new and already wondering how much it's gonna cost me to get one of those sweet "supporter" banners next to my username. Photo QUALITY is key and the easier it is for ALL members, especially the NEWBIES!, to post quality photos in a decent amount of time with as little headache as possible is paramount for this Communities future. Especially with what this forum IS , you guys really are the most welcoming forum I have ever been on, and if we can't figure out how to get the right amount of revenue because new members can't figure out how to properly post their photos and questions and give up and go elsewhere or just give up on collecting altogether, that's rough. Because expensive? We should all be concerned about how to keep up with the times and make it as easy as 1,2,3. Is that possible? I don't know. That's the details we could chat about if anyone is interested. I just can't imagine that's how anyone who has put their blood, sweat, tears, money and time into this community for X amount of years wants to see the CCFs legacy go down. That's a bit altruistic (vocab again) maybe, but that's just how I see it and I could be completely wrong but based on the passion I have seen from this community, I highly doubt anyone wants to see this community stagnate. Last thing, thanks for the apology I also was being kinda dramatic! I really am excited to be here and hope the CCF can see that I am here to expand my and others knowledge and have some fun while I do as such and also help the CCF all that I can, I need a new outlet but I'll get into that later.
