Well, the coins were just delivered (a few days earlier than expected) and they are absolutely beautiful! Each one is truly Brilliant Uncirculated with lots of cartwheel luster. At some point I will carefully go through them to see if there are any interesting dates and/or mint marks. I'd check for VAMs, except I really don't know anything about them and wouldn't know what to look for, sorry... As I mentioned in my original post, I have no idea why I was able to pick these up for $55 per coin at APMEX by buying 100 of them individually when they are selling rolls of 20 (identical to the rolls I received) for $1400 and rolls of 10 for $700. As far as I can tell, they really are the exact same -- random dates (1878-1904) in BU condition. Not that I'm complaining, mind you... Oh, right -- pictures! And just one representative close up:

Thanks for the pics! Nice looking coins and don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but definitely not uncirculated if the close up coin is any indication of what you have received.

And in other news, I think I finally figured out why the pre-packaged tubes of 10 and 20 random year BU Morgans were on sale for significantly more than the ones I purchased "in bulk." It turns out that the pre-packaged tubes are not actually "random" years but are instead "10 different dates" and "20 different dates," respectively. Which means, I guess, that you won't get any duplicate dates despite the fact that you also aren't likely to get any particularly rare or valuable dates/mint marks.
I suppose that's important if you are working on an album and want as many different dates as possible, but I wouldn't pay extra for that, personally.

Just for the record, the exact same BU random year Morgan dollars I bought from APMEX at $55/coin are now selling there for $58.39 (the price of silver has gone from $45/oz to $50.50/oz at the time I write this). A "mini monster box" of the same coins (which is just the same 100 coins I purchased, but in fancy packaging) is selling there for $5895. Assuming silver stays at this price or goes higher, I'm going to remain very happy with my purchase. If it ever drops back down to $20 or so, perhaps not so much...

I know the feeling very well. Well done if you can afford. I saved a nice silver coin today.
But I think that silver is now a sell for things you are not attached to.

Silver has gone from $45/oz when I purchased these to $53/oz, and the APMEX price on these coins has been rising steadily as a result. Right now, the same coins I bought are $60.39 apiece (when purchased in quantities of 100 or more), compared to the $54.99 I paid per coin. So that's a $5.40 increase per coin, which means I would have had to pay an extra $540 for the 100 coins if I bought them now. Yeah, I'm not feeling too bad about "overpaying" for these right now...
