@Sharks Most of the products you mention/decry were not produced by the RCM, or even in Canada. They were produced by partnering entities in Italy and Switzerland, and sold bybthe RCM in partnership with them, likely bringing in additional revenue to the RCM.

Quote: Would like to add "Legend of the Dreamcatcher" to my 1 oz. silver coin collection. However, at $149.95 CAD (more than double spot) Spots at $108 cad right now , give it another week or so and it might be close to the $149 level ( Kinda half joking) haha. Which brings up another thing... if spot price keeps rising then these "collectables" are going to cost even more to make. $150 cad for coins like that one is tough enough to swallow for many regular collectors. Imagine if the price this time next year is $200 to $250 for a similar product . Or even higher.

Quote: if spot price keeps rising then these "collectables" are going to cost even more to make Before the holidays some of the pricing for 2026 new release had been leaked. That pricing did not factor in the recent climb in the metal value. In an attempt to sell affordable products, I can see the RCM coming out with more 1/2 and 1/4 ounce and perhaps even sterling silver products. For myself, because of the taxes, I tend to stay away from any new NCLT items that are not 999.

I still have a 2013 $10 Dreamcatcher , there doesn't seem to be too many for sale, think I saw one for close to $120 cad on ebay. Its only 1/2 oz of silver. I dont want to sell it ... maybe if spot hits $500.

@Northerncoins: Good points! I have been "concerned" over the potential price point of the Mint's annual commemorative silver dollar(s).
Will the increased silver spot price be reflected in an increased Issue Price? In a reduced coin weight? In a reduced planchet fineness?
I'd guess a price increase, but other options are possible.
I guess we'll know within a week! (Major dealers may already know!)

Quote: commems Will the increased silver spot price be reflected in an increased Issue Price? In a reduced coin weight? In a reduced planchet fineness? Well I would think they already have allocated the metals which they had sourced out months ago at the lower spot prices for this release. Since the dealers are already good to go to start selling which means coins are already made and in stock. I dont think this high spot price will affect them much in the short term. At least not in the way you might think. Maybe they will have increased sales... why buy bullion when you can get proofs for a bit more or close to the same depending on where we go from here. To the moon or to the basement .

@Northerncoins - At the moment spot is $99.18 CAD and the Legend of the Dreamcatcher - 1 oz. Fine Silver Coin is still at $149.95 so ..... Somehow, I ended up at the RCM site and had to put my order in. " Estimated Shipping Date: January 7, 2026" .

@Sharks: That coin looks pretty good...no nasty coloring applied etc. Nice and clean. With 5000 mintage it could be a fast sell out.
