The day is coming when there won't be any for sale at your local dealer. At that point price won't matter much. Get what you want now and then sit back and watch the show.

jbuck, buy them in the secondary market after issue, they will most likely be cheaper.

I can consider doing that, but then I run the risk of settling for rejects. At least with the Mint I have a return window for bad product. That is my value added from the higher prices.

It's going to get too expensive for the average person to collect silver coins in the not too distant future, just like gold. Copper and c/n will be the future for those that want to collect coins.

I guess I should be happy I was able to get what I got when I got it. Quote: Copper and c/n will be the future for those that want to collect coins. I suppose I always knew it could/would happen some day.

Interesting and informative article, IndianGoldEagle. Quote: However, the true breaking point has been a massive surge in silver lease rates—the interest rate paid to borrow physical silver. Hmmm. Why? This point is not addressed.

As much as I like these premium values on silver, I look everywhere for dealers who have below melt in stock and see if I can buy stuff for cheaper than melt, as deals are all over the place, just have to know where to look.

I think most dealers don't know just how strained the world physical silver market is. All they see is the average Joe/Jane showing up at their store dumping what ever silver they have for these high prices (high but not adjusted for inflation). They all expect things to be like 1980 and 2011 where the bottom falls out of the prices soon. Sellers still out number buyers in the retail market so the dealers have to turn what they buy as fast as they can. You should be able to get some great deals below spot especially at Coin Shows. When the prices continue to head towards $100, many people are going to be caught by surprise. Things are not the same this time.

Quote: I think most dealers don't know just how strained the world physical silver market is. I am not sure if this is the case or as a business owner you have to manage your risk. They cannot trade over the weekend, so I know my local dealer manages his stock especially on a Friday afternoon. Making a certain premium is worth more than the risk of a sharp drop and he is holding the bag. He is not what I would consider a large dealer and has close to 3/4 of a million in "bullion" material (which includes most pre-33 gold MS-62 and below).
