Anyone else see the sloppy "Omega" cent "counterstamps" being sold on ebay in "limited" runs with certificates of "authentication" indicating them as a tribute? Some are better than others, there are gold plated examples too. I think my favorite one is upside-down and to the right of Lincoln At least they don't pretend to be one of the 232 real sets, but for what they're charging, yikes. I'd pay maybe 50c for a faked Omega as a joke, maybe $1 or two with gold plating, but $50 or more? They appear to be selling, too

Hondo, maybe I'll make Lincoln wear the Omega as a hat on mine To each their own!

When it's obvious there will be 2026 cents in the Mint's uncirculated and proof sets, that will be the first big hit to the 2025 cent hype, IMO.

I'm still seeing Bicentennial junk in auctions. The coming "collectors items" that will soon be pedaled are going be around for quite a while.

I would not bet against that.

I'm waiting for the offer that reads: "Historic U. S. cents for sale! Now-defunct penny design sure to increase in value! The ultimate collector's coin! BUT WAIT! There's more! Order before midnight tonight and get a vial of genuine dirt taken from the hills of LaRue County, Kentucky, Honest Ole Abe's birthplace, for only an extra $9.95! Dirt comes with a genuine Certification of Authenticity signed by leading scientists! Shipping not included."
