You could try using Verdi-Care to improve the spots, on the reverse.

I say it could (will) make it - I've seen worse that graded FS.

dont touch it. I have seen worse steps receive the designation.

MS65 without clearer shot of the steps its a tough call. not easy getting a good clear closeup. it doesn't matter much value wise on about $6-7 difference

Thank you everyone!
How about the grade tho? I was hoping with the luster, strike, and minimal hits it would make Gem FS but worried the two spots on the reverse would hold it back.

Grade Guesses? also note the strange location of the die crack to the left of the pillars on the reverse.

well captain you have my grade MS65 with a shot at FS. there is just a little too much glare from overhead lighting or flash to see the steps clearly

its a common date in this grade with FS where PCGS is showing over 2500 grading with the designation in this grade. keep in mind the difference between a 65 FS and no FS is about $4

I think we are all in the same boat.

Hadn't seen your post Panzaldi! Strange how your time stamp is after mine but the post is before.

This one wasn't about value, I only have $11 into this one and $8 in the choice 5 step one I am trying to upgrade. Got My micro working! This is much easier. Thanx for all the input! You can see that die crack a little better now.

It's a nice coin - can't tell by the images if it is gem or FS.

Thanx again everyone! It's officially an upgrade and added to my set. Crazy enough, I listed the coin I replaced on ebay for more what I paid for both coins and it sold within 15 minutes! Wild!!!

It looks MS-65FS to me. The toning spots on the reverse are concerning, though. The one on the rim already looks corroded, and the one below the E looks like it has potential to grow.
