First and foremost, welcome! Stunning set for sure. Was there a reason for the date choice that I missed?

First, Absolutely beautiful proof coins! So many proof coins from that era were put back into circulation during the 1893-1897 depression that finding some of the higher denominations is quite the hunt. You have a fantastic set going. Looking forward to seeing this collection as it grows!

Quote: First and foremost, welcome! Stunning set for sure. Was there a reason for the date choice that I missed? Apologies if I didnt quote reply correctly but I first purchased the quarter at a coin show and sort of fell in love with 19th century proofs from there. 1883 is an interesting year for proofs with 3 different nickel designs, the 3 cent nickel, and 2 different dollar designs. Every coin in the date is relatively affordable if not the cheapest for their respective series. A pretty perfect level of challenge for me to build one over several years!
