While damaged and corroded, this is a Snow variety with a full bisecting die crack on the reverse. Perfect match to Snow-7.

Good to know. I'm glad I was wrong. Thank you for that information, RedRaider.

Given the coins condition, it is not worth much at all. A few bucks tops. In high grade and problem free, this variety could command a premium to the right collector. Just too damaged to pass for a premium.

Thanks. I thought it was some type of enviromental damage, but I do agree that it looks like solder or something. Thanks all for the replies.

a very long scratch on the reverse

It appears to be a die crack as mentioned above.

Notice that it goes UNDER the letters E, N, and the other E rather than "through" them.

True - but if you look closely it is a "Planchet Crack" - not a "Die Crack". Could that have been from the heat applied to the cent? I only bring up the questions - you all can figure them out!

Thanks, no the one pictured isn't mine. I wish. Just wanted to show the Snow Variety.
