It weighs 27.2 grams on my scale. The diameter is right at 1&1/2 inches, which converts to 38.1 mm. I bought it from a dealer in Dallas many years ago and had a good conversation with about the authenticity. I felt good about it when I bought it.

At the potential value it may have, an independent professional opinion is entirely justified.
It may be difficult to sell, or even difficult to own, without such an opinioin.

ANACS is considered a second level grading company. however, for the cost its the best value to authenticate a coin. Trade dollars are heavily counterfeited and it does require authentication if you plan on selling it at any point i think yours is F15 with a value of about $300-350. you're looking at about $50 in fees. at PCGS you would be about $100 with a subscription and fees so thats probably not an option. NGC would be about $60 with their economy grading

Looks genuine, having it in a slab would be a plus.

It looks genuine. A Trade dollar is much easer to sell if it is in a TPG holder.

" ANACS is considered a second level grading company." Umm .not really second level anymore and have not been for sometime! Actually over the last couple years there are as good as any . Their customer service is quite frankly over the top good . I have zero trouble selling coins in recent ANACS holders for the right money . Good result on the Trade dollar!
