Looks copper to me, I can see this as a possiblaity.
Acetone will help determine.
Coin looks to be in great condition for being 32 years old, so I can see this being released from an inherited collection.

A pure acetone soak will tell us if it's a stain or not.

In the full coin shot it does look like a stain, but...
Maybe it's my peepers, but there seems to be a slightly raised linear feature in the last image, when enlarged, between the "copper" and clacopper.
This makes me wonder if it is actually coppr.

Acetone is not going to remove a stain that altered the metal.

To me, it looks like something acidic or basic was on the surface, and made the copper prominent on the surface. The edge of the anomaly looks down. If it were a big copper flake struck into the surface, the edge would be raised.

Ok I just took a photo with my cmos camera. I looks like its a thin film of copper that got trapped when it got strucked? The color is more like what I'm seeing with my AmScope microscope. Let me know Thanks!

I was just wondering if it's a piece of copper then why is the cupro-nickel layer showing through it? I thought maybe wear but there really shouldn't be much wear in the fields instead of the high points of the details?

Just bringing up a talking point - don't shoot the messenger

It could very well be a struck-through copper foil. Hard to say from photos - this is one where an in-hand inspection is required.
